IKARUS: The Return
Version 0.0.4 of IKARUS is here! We’ve been working hard over the past few months, and this update is packed with new features, gameplay changes, and plenty of fixes. You can check it out here: https://magicalsomething.itch.io/ikarus

What’s New in Version 0.0.4?
New Stuff
- Augment System Now you can power up your character with augments during each run. Pick the right ones and build your character the way you want!
- Shop System Meet CheX! You can now spend your coins at the shop to buy new cards and augments. Don’t go too crazy with rerolls though—coins are limited!
- Coin System Earn coins as you play, then spend them in the shop to grab new cards and power-ups.
- Card Library & Modifiers There’s now a card library where you can view all your unlocked cards. And for those looking for a challenge, we’ve added modifiers to make the game harder—only unlockable after beating the first level.

Gameplay Updates
- Enemy Overhaul All-new enemies! We’ve redone all of the baddies you’ll face to keep things fresh.
- Encounter System Enemies now spawn in set encounters, and once you take down the medium-boss (red skull marker), you can progress.
- New Draw/Turn System When you draw cards, it’s now a full hand, and your old hand gets shuffled back into the deck.
- Parry Update Successful parries now shoot missiles! Yes, really.
Balance Tweaks
- Card Adjustments Based on feedback, we’ve tweaked some card stats and costs to keep things more balanced. Expect some new combos to try out!
- Player & Enemy Health/Damage We’ve adjusted damage and health values for both players and enemies to make fights feel better.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
- UI Improvements The game’s UI has been cleaned up and streamlined, making it easier to navigate and play.
- General Fixes Tons of bug fixes and little tweaks across the board—hopefully squashing some of the more annoying issues!
What’s Coming Next?
We’ve got a bunch of stuff in the works, including:
- New Character Model A fresh look for your character is on the way.
- Better Tutorial We know the tutorial needs some love, so we’re working on making it more helpful (and less of a slog).
- New Art & Visual Effects We’re updating the art and adding new VFX to make the game pop even more.
- New Levels & Cards Expect new levels, more enemies, and a ton of new cards to mess around with.
